Congratulations on making it through to the NORTHERN 2025 Tackle Guru Match Academy! This is taking place at Partridge Lakes Fishery near Warrington on Wednesday 27th August. The aim of this event is to help you become a better match angler, with coaching from some of the best anglers in the world, finishing in a match to win some incredible prizes!
The format for this year’s event involves anglers drawing their peg for the day where they will be designated an expert Guru angler to spend the day with. Breakfast sandwiches for the anglers is provided and will be available at the fishery café from 8am once you have registered. The draw will then take place at 9am, and registration/breakfast is from 8am. There will then be a three-hour training session in the morning where anglers can prepare tackle, practice techniques, ask questions and gain lots of tactical info, tips and tricks from the experts that are coaching them. Lunch will be delivered to the swim at 12.00pm, and we’ll have a break for an hour before a three-and-a-half-hour afternoon match will take place from 1pm to 4.30pm.
During this match, anglers can apply everything they have learned in the morning’s coaching and training, and will still have their expert Guru on hand to guide them through the match and help them get the maximum out of their swim. There will then be the all-important weigh-in, and we’ll re-gather at the café for a snack and results presentation at 5.30pm-6pm. Everyone should be off-site for 6.30pm-7pm.
Every participant will receive a Tackle Guru goody bucket and Mainline Match bait pack worth over £100 for the day FOC, and there will be fantastic prizes for the overall top three framers, plus some amazing section winning prizes, and the most improved, not forgetting some amazing trophies and medals! We also encourage you to bring your own bait, in particular natural baits like maggots, casters and worms if you wish to use them. These will also be available from the fishery tackle shop on-site.
